Why subscribe?

Sign up to get at least one weekly newsletter that contains information about a current issue and a way to take action in the vein of "the one-minute activist,” as well as suggested reading, something related to food, and who knows what else because it’s a big world out there. 🙂

Here are the details:

What’s Happening?

Using my professional researching skills, I first research a current event, situation, or concept that is causing much trouble and concern in our country or world and then present it, along with examples of who or what is being harmed and ways individuals, activists, organizations, or politicians are addressing or can address the issue.

What to Do

In the “one-minute activist” vein, I provide information and/or links that you can use to do SOMETHING to effect positive change as to the issue in the above What’s Happening section, such as sign a petition, join an organization, boycott a product, donate funds, or contact elected officials.

What to Read

Here you will find recommendations of interesting, informative, or simply amusing things to read, whether it be a newsletter, blog/blog post, book, article, or other publication or venue.

What’s Cooking?

What’s a newsletter without a recipe or at least some discussion of food? Using my experience as a former farm/food education coordinator and cooking demonstrator, I will share recipes and thoughts related to food, ranging from recipes and ways that support both our health and that of our farmers and community to the benefits of making room for food and “breaking bread together” that is simply good for our souls.

What Else?

You’ll have to read each week to find out!

Please Sign Up!

The What’s Happening and What to Do sections will always be available to all subscribers. Once things get rolling, one or more of the additional sections will be available only to paid subscribers.

Each week I highlight a current issue and ways to take action in the vein of "the one-minute activist." There is also a suggested reading section, something related to food, and who knows what else because it’s a big world out there. 🙂
